| Migrant Osprey from Germany
in Guinea Bissau released.
In January forest officers confiscated an Osprey with leg bands
from Germany in a fishing village in Guinea-Bissau. The wildlife
authorities then gave the Osprey to River Zoo Farm. The bird was
in a worst condition and nearly dead.
After two months, on the 17th of March the bird was fit to be released
for his long trip back to Germany. Okay, he was a little heavier
then he should be (Me too). He was released by the Minister of Agriculture
personally with much press and TV
publicity. After the release the bird first was sitting for about
15 Minutes on a small tree, he left and was never seen again. The
Minister gives him good wishes for his long trip home.
